Meet the Team

Founders

Paul Guthrie

Co-founder & Managing Director

Paul is also the Chief Commercial Officer and Co-founder of Envelop Risk, previously co-founded VALR and QxBranch. His career spans quantum computing, AI, and space technology, with roles at The Tauri Group and as the US contact for the Space Generation Advisory Council. Paul has a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in Applied Economics and from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington in International Science and Technology Policy. He also holds a BA in Philosophy from the Honors Program at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA.

As a former athlete of the US National Rowing Team, Paul coached the Samoan National Rowing Team in 2016 and has won multiple US National Championships as an Olympic development rowing coach at Potomac Boat Club in Washington, DC.

Max Henderson

Co-founder, Chief Data Officer, & Head of Technology

Max leads the overall technology team, helping develop machine learning and data science solutions for modeling cyber risk while also leading the development and testing of DataStream’s core technology products. He has held Data Scientist positions at Rigetti Computing, QxBranch, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Lockheed Martin. He has provided technical solutions in cyber, quantum computing, bioinformatics, and natural language processing domains.

Max has a Ph.D. and MS from Drexel University in Physics as well as a BS in Physics from West Chester University. When Max isn’t crunching numbers, he enjoys writing poetry and has been published in several online journals. His biggest accomplishment in poetry is having a poem headed to the moon, as one of the winners of the Lunar Codex Project.
